About Me
Hey! I'm a self-taught coder who loves building things, whether it's with code or in my workshop.
The Coding Side
I picked up coding out of curiosity and never looked back. These days, I work with Python, PHP, C, and Nim for the fun stuff, and yeah, some VBA when work calls for it (we all have our crosses to bear 😅). I'm particularly proud of BdgtCal.com, my latest project that helps people manage their finances better.
The Maker Side
When I'm not typing away at the keyboard, you'll find me in my workshop. I've got a CNC router and laser that let me bring digital designs into the real world. There's something really satisfying about combining code with woodworking - it's like having the best of both worlds.
Life & Adventures
Originally from Brantford, I now call Port Dover home with my family of five. When the weather's good (and sometimes when it isn't, I'm out exploring Ontario's backcountry. Nothing beats disconnecting from the digital world and spending a few nights under the stars!
Day Job
I've been with Curtiss-Wright, Farris Engineering in Brantford since 2008, where I work as a Sr. Planner. While my main role involves production planning, I've found countless opportunities to blend my passion for coding with day-to-day operations. I develop custom tools and interfaces for our ERP systems, automating workflows and making life easier for my colleagues. It's pretty rewarding when you can use both traditional planning skills and modern programming to solve real-world manufacturing challenges.
